First comes love, then comes a baby, then comes a marriage... You might be asking yourself, isn't that a little backwards? Yes. Yes it is. But this is our story- and we wouldn't have it any other way!
Thank you, forbidden workplace romance that brought us together. It all started with casual chats, exchanged glances, and suspiciously well-timed coffee breaks in the kitchen. He was a project manger. I was the bosses daughter. And not just any boss- my dad ran the place.
So yeah... we kept things quiet for a while.
We weren't exactly breaking the rules, but having feelings for someone at work - especially when your dad is in charge - adds a certain level of... pressure. Cue those weekly PM calls or office lunches where we had to act like we barely knew each other.
Eventually, it got too real to hide. Naturally, I planned a dinner in a public place to break the news to my dad - which was mildly terrifying. I kept replaying in my head the whole time what he told me since I started working here "you are NOT allowed to date anyone in the company". (Sorry dad!)
Although John Taylor Davis was already on the hunt for another job expecting he would get fired, they decided to keep him. After all, he was "the best PM Cooper Steel has ever seen". We considered that a win. But, not shortly after, He was looking for another job because we had more news to share: we were expecting a baby. cue round two of nerves. Turns out, my dad handled both situations with a lot more grace than we expected and all the worries were for nothing!
Next comes Kennedy. She became the most joyful, life-changing surprise either of us could've imagined. Now we've built a life we love - full of midnight feedings, toddler giggles, teamwork, and the kind of love that grows stronger through it all. We did things out of order, but exactly the right way for us.
And now? We are finally making it official - with our favorite little person by our side, and all of our favorite people there to celebrate.
Thanks for being part of this beautifully imperfect adventure. We can't wait to share this next chapter with you!!
